Palm Tree and Lily - work in progress

This may not be the final title for this painting. I have been working on it for a month, amidst the turmoil at my house. The dog tore his ACL (surgery, rehab, etc.) and other family issues. I thought it would go more smoothly when I was able to get back in my studio. It is 28 x 22 which is small compared to some of my last paintings and I have painted many river scenes. However, I seemed to have gotten bogged down with too much of the light yellow green. But, it is still hard to tell. At this point, I may have to go ahead with the sky to distinguish the pattern at the top of the leaves and establish the pattern in the reflection. Of course, with acrylic, one wants to use the colors before they dry up and you have to mix more. I did find another photo that may help me define the right side with larger foliage. So, as I strive to finish the painting before my next change out at Arts on Douglas, it will be interesting to see how the finished product looks.
A side note - the dog is much better and my new fall television series are starting. That will help me get in the "zone" to finish the painting.
